Identify the rear opening setting

A reverse fly opens the arms sideways and toward the rear. The pectoral fly closes them. Ask staff to demonstrate the rear delt setting and all adjustments on your actual machine before using it.

Fit the seat to this model

Start with manageable resistance. The Cybex Prestige example places the elbows slightly below the shoulders with the chosen grip and allows a soft elbow bend. Face its front pad as illustrated. Follow your model's placard; choose another option if its settings cannot fit comfortably.

Open with a soft elbow bend

Keep your feet secure and torso quiet. Move the handles smoothly sideways and rearward without turning the action into an elbow bending row. Do not force extra range or raise the shoulders.

Control the return

Return slowly without dropping the stack. Reduce resistance if control changes. Stop for pain, dizziness or lost control. Injury, surgery or personal restrictions require individual advice. There is no universal load, seat notch or repetition target here.

Record the exact machine

Note the model, seat, starting arms and controlled repetitions. Different machines need separate records. Find the matching instructions through the official manual finder. Explore planning in Fitonomy; an app cannot assess technique.
